I am pretty angry right now,

Well, you can always wrap your xbox in a towel, leave it on for about 30 minutes, then cool it down for like 20 minutes. That should fix it for a few days.

A family friend bought some third party cooler for their Xbox 360 and stores it in a place where it can vent easily. So far it hasn't yet gotten the infamous red ring of death.

Can you imagine how much of an even bigger pain in the ass it would be getting the red rings of death on an imported Japanese Xbox 360?
