Important Chat Room Question

Right, I need to ask this because DaRk is worrying, but, for some reason, won't ask you himself.

I need to know why you post in the chat box?

DaRk seems to think that the chat box is responcible for the lack of posting going on around the forum.

He doesn't think any of us can be bothered to post around the forum now we have a box to chat in.

For me, I post in there coz it's abit of fun. If I have something "post worthy" then I'll post it, regardless of there being a chat box or not.

I'm posting in the chat box to have some fun, be socialable, and because I have nothing worth posting anywhere right now.

I just wanna know your own reasons for posting coz I think it'll help the forum and, with any luck, stop DaRk from worrying about his board stastics (which I think are unimportant anyways coz I'm more about people, and fun, than numbers - but that's just me).

Anyways, I've made this topic in order to help DaRk out, so please just take a few moments to let us know how your minds work. XP

I post in the shoutbox once in a while. Usually when i have nothing to do or find something i need to reply to. Other than that im strictly posting.

well i usually stick the genral section of the forum, but i do post random shit in the shoutbox such as "I <3 PIGEONS!" or sumthin like that.

as for not posting because of the box, fuk that, thats just retarded

Personally I hate chatbox, So generally I have it shut down. I did vote against the damn thing too.

I voted against it also, as I felt there was/is already a place for that kinda stuff, but I did/do wanna know why people post in the chat box and if it's stopping them from posting in other places at all (coz, as I mentioned, DaRk was worried about that being the case yesterday).

One reason people post there could be that its there. No particular reason, But general ease of use like a messenger program.

I don't think it's needed as we have the Random section and stuff, which is why I voted against it initially.

It's what the majority want (as it won it's poll), and I don't think it's doing any harm being there at all. Those of who don't wanna use it, don't have to, after all.

And, from the replies here so far, and my personal experiance too, I don't think it's stopping anyone from posting anywhere on the board, except for maybe the Random section, but that's to be expected when you have a shout box to post random stuff in.

I reopened this topic this morning because I felt it was closed prematurely.

There's no need to close this as it's not doing any harm and I think it's interesting and helpful to hear people's points of view regarding the shout box.
