I personally beleive that the chicken came first, evolved from something. But evolution is something we will never fully understand i guess.

You guys are silly. As it goes, chicken first is creationism. Some godlike being created a chicken which then laid eggs. Egg first is evolution. Some creature that was not a chicken, but similar to a chicken, laid a slightly mutated egg that hatched into a chicken. Evolution.
I personally believe that the chicken came first. But I think worshiping that godlike being is pretty pointless. I'll stick to a firm nod of respect for a being I can never understand or comprehend or ever know a damn thing about. How about that?
Of course.. I'm open to the theory of evolution as well. I accept that I don't know anything. *nod*

well when a mummy and a daddy love each other very much they adopt a hamster .......
wait of topic i would have to say the odds are going for egg through evolution, i mean thing about it dinosaurs that could fly laid eggs and as they slowly changed so did the egg, thus the first chicken came from an egg lol
Answer is EGG

God made the chicken... Adam named the chicken... The chicken loved another chicken... the egg was made by the chicken.

One day, a girl went back in time using a time machine out of boredom. She brought an egg along and left it there and it hatched and became the first chicken in the history of ummm chickens xD

Mutated human evolution. o.O

Simply put, if you believe in creationism, the chicken came first.
If you believe in evolution, then the egg came first, since in order to qualify as a complete "chicken," then its initial cell would have to have been a complete chicken after mutating the final touch. Thus, in order for what is scientifically defined as a chicken to have been born, it would have to have been encased in its own egg. This would be a result of a mutation in the gonads of the father or mother chicken ancestor, or considerably less likely, the chicken fetus' initial cell division.

I say the chicken...
What came first, human or fetus... lol, humans don't have "eggs" (I noe this doesn't relate to the topic)

egg technically, but as evolution is an analogue thing you cant say its either....i suppose you'd have to come up with an exclusive genetic definition of a chicken, then apply it to the entire genome of the evolving chicken to find out exactly when....but even so that exclusive genetic defiition would last for a single chicken.
lol i could rant more but i shant
if anyone wants to have a proper debate on this, tlk to me on msn

Both appeared at the same time because when the chicken was made, It was ready to lay an egg.
